The exciting splashes of orange among the sea of calming blue hues links the painting to
the artwork it was made to reflect, Ambition. Although he bears the head of a dragon, this
creature is in fact a qilin, a chimeric creature that may be known as a Chinese unicorn. Everyday, worshippers touch the qilin that guard the gates of the Wong Tai Sin temple for good luck.
This dragon was imagined and realised as part of a set with Ambition.
